Abstract
The principle of operation of the sensor is based upon the measurement of the potential developed at the surface of the silver sensitive membrane, determined by the concentration of silver ions in the solution where in the sensor is immersed.
The electrochemical sensor for silver and the calomel or Ag/AgCl reference electrode is connected to an ionmeter/milivoltmeter. The pair of electrodes immersed in the solution form an electrochemical cell whose e.m.f. is practically determined by the concentration of silver ions in the solution.
