Abstract
Water is a common asset of the planet, and every country has the obligation to protect the water from the effects of pollution for the good of the entire mankind. The importance of water for the environment has become a major component of the laws of every country. This article makes a comparative analysis of water protection standards in terms of legislative re-quirements regarding the discharge of the domestic wastewaters into the water bodies. For these purposes, the legislative discharge frameworks of several countries on two continents are compared: Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania on the African continent, respectively the United States of America on the North America continent.
